Where to Get a Professional Therapist Logo Designed For Your Private Practice
“Well, sir, it’s this rug I had. It really tied the room together,” The Dude laments to Mr. Lebowski after a group of foreigners urinated on his rug thinking that The Dude (whose last name is also Lebowski) was actually Mr. Lebowski.
It’s one of many iconic scenes from The Big Lebowski, a movie that is hands-down one of my favorites of all-time.
Now, what exactly am I doing talking about The Big Lebowski in an article about logos? Well, just like the rug tied The Dude’s room together, a logo can truly tie a website together.
While you can skate by with a middle-of-the-road logo, by investing a little more in your business to have a professional logo designed, your private practice website will become leaps and bounds more professional and attractive.
Here are 4 uncommon ways to get a professional logo designed for your private practice. They are listed in order of our preference as therapist website designers, but any 4 locations will work to help you have a logo that, well, ties the website together :).
Top 4 Places for Therapist Logo Design
99Designs
99Designs is hands-down my favorite place to turn to for graphic design work. We’ve had a ton of artwork developed here, including:
- Our logo — Yup, that’s right! Brighter Vision’s own logo was designed through 99Designs
- Our Popup Banner — The banner we use at all conferences was designed at 99Designs. You can see the photo below it for a taste of it in action
- Other logo design work — Before Brighter Vision, I built over a dozen websites in the outdoor industry. Some of those sites had their logos designed at 99Designs, including my first website, Glacier National Park Travel Guide.
Pros:
- Quality to Cost Comparison — For $299, you can get a beautiful logo designed. One that would cost you thousands of dollars if you had it done stateside
- Very easy to use website
- Hundreds of designers crowdsource in to get you a logo you love.
Cons:
- Price — Even though it’s cheaper than a standard web developer, forking over a few hundred dollars for a logo is an expensive investment.
eLance
eLance can be a great website, if you have experience in outsourcing. There are thousands of graphic designers on eLance and the prices range from $5/hour to hundreds of dollars per hour.
The problem with eLance is that you have to post a job, sort and sift through the candidates, and then hire one person. If it doesn’t work out, you’re out of luck.
It requires a lot of hiring skills and management skills, since you’re working directly with one person. Personally, of the four listed here, I think this is the worst option, but it still is an option.
Graphic River
Graphic River is a website not many people are familiar with, but they have over 48,000 ‘logo’ designs. Why is ‘logo’ in quotations? Well, they aren’t exactly logos.
Instead, they are more icons you can use in your logo. While text is included, you need the help of a designer (or Brighter Vision) to actually change the text that displays (including the location and color).
But for $30, it can’t be beat.
Brighter Vision
Let’s get this out of the way right now: Brighter Vision does not do graphic design work. We do therapist website design. Big difference.
That said, we can work with a Graphic River ‘logo’ to make it your own.
Or, we often take a clients’ business name and format it nicely for their website.
A few examples of this include:
- Kimberly Welch, a Boulder therapist
- Julie Menanno, a Porter Ranch, CA therapist (Julie’s an example of where she took an icon and had us custom the text to the right of it)
- David McDonald, an Aurora therapist
- Lighthouse Counseling – Smyrna, GA
Compare this to a few Therapy Sites websites, with their ‘default’ logos, and you can decide for yourself whether or not a Brighter Vision built logo works better:
** IMPORTANT ** The sites listed below are sites built on TherapySites’ platform, not Brighter Vision’s.

Examples of How a Logo Ties the Website Together
For one final showcase, I want to share a few Brighter Vision websites that were built with a professionally designed logo. In these cases, our client came to us with a logo and allowed our Developers to design their site around the logo.
- Diann Wingert – Pasadena, CA Therapist
- Caring Therapists of Broward
- Tandem Mental Health – Glen Allen Therapists
Anyway, that about wraps it up on ideas about getting a logo designed for your private practice.

Hello,
I found a logo I like on Graphic River. I am already a client of Brighter Vision. Can Brighter Vision help me customize the text on logo if I purchase the logo through Graphic River?
Sam Chlebowski says
Hi Maria,
Thanks for reaching out!
If you send us the logo, we’re happy to add it to the site and get it situated just right.
However, at this time we’re not able to make customizations to another designer’s work.
